I'm a Christian, husband, father and entrepreneur. My focus here is to help you make small changes to your lifestyle that have a big, positive impact on your quality and length of life.  Gradually, I want you to learn to adjust accordingly on your own so you won't need me anymore.  I know...unheard of.

 

I've been training athletes and gym-goers for about 19 years.  I catch a lot of crap from personal trainers on my approach to fitness because much of it isn't "by the book".  I don't care.  My trainees are strong, healthy and educated when I'm done with them.

 

I've moved a lot of weight over the years though you wouldn't think it by looking at me now since I tip the scales at 170lbs.  In my defense, I'm usually around 5-6% bodyfat.  My records are as follows for a minimum of two reps:  deadlift - 425lbs, squat - 365lbs, bench press 245lbs.  I know how to get strong the wrong way (actually many ways) and the right way (only one way).  I'm currently making progress toward regaining that strength.

 

I like to run shorter distances of usually less than 3 miles and incorporate bodyweight exercises and calisthenics along the way.  It certainly keeps my ego in check.

 

You don't have to go to a gym but you must know that EXERCISE IS NECESSARY!  I don't care if you push-mow your lawn, throw bails of hay around all day, work construction or work on someone's nerves from your desk.  You have to move around and do some weight-bearing exercise almost every day!  Don't fight me on this.  You will not win.

 

Though I've been giving nutritional advice for over 20 years, I just became 'certified' in 2011 as a Nutritional Consultant to lend some credibility to my name for those unfamiliar with my knowledge and skills.  I see it as a formality only.  I'm also board certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

 

I like how Dr. Saul's website says it:  Any form of self-treatment or alternative health program necessarily must involve an indvidual's acceptance of some risk, and no one should assume otherwise.
